From my understanding, you don't have to remove the bumper to get the headlights off.

So that has been said, but I believe you would have to remove the bottom shroud from the car to access from the bottom? For me it is quicker to pull the bumper. The concern that you will compromise the electrical connection is completely unfounded in my opinion!

I just saw a video on removing the headlights. 2 main bolts...2 other slide in ones....harnesses and headlight comes off easily.
