New to this, so please be patient.
I am buying a 2010 128i coupe w/ 10K miles (fleet car). Still has 1 year left on BMW warranty. Thoughts on buying extended third party warranty (Carmax) vs. BMW gold warranty-7yrs/70k miles? I will only drive approx. 10k miles a year.
Thanks for your thoughts and comments
Food for thought; the companies that offer extended warranties are in business because they make a profit. That means that for their average customer, they are taking more money than they pay out.
I considered the same thing after buying a 2010 128i w/18,000 mi. I got on line and inquired about extended maintenance and found very few people happy with their agreements and a lot regretting they spent the money because the companies refused to pay off. I declined the offer to purchase one and am very happy.
Thanks for your reply. I ended up going the CPO route on a different 128, so a third party extended warranty wasn't needed. I would be interested in hearing how well BMW stands behind their CPOs.
