Keep 370z or buy a M6?
So,i have owned a 370z for about 8 months now, just hit 12K on it,trade in is about 30K and i can pick up a nice 07-8 for about 35K...whats your thoughts?
I like that the Z is new but if i go the M6 route I am looking a at 5 year old car. I would definately buy extended warranty on the M6. |

Five years old in a BMW is nothing. Premium German cars are engineered for the long haul. Yet, you have to stay on top of the periodic maintenance, which is very expensive through the dealers. Based on your current driving pattern, it sounds like you want the car as your daily driver. Consider this: 12,000 miles in 8 months is 1,500 mi/month. That's 8 fill ups a month since you get about 200 miles per tank/fill up in the M6 at 15 gallons per fill up. Not saying MPG should be an over-riding concern, but you should know what you're getting into. I haven't owned mine long enough yet, but I'd guess you'll be lucky to get 15,000 miles on a set of tires @ $2,000 a set. That's another annual expense in your case. All that said, the M6 is the ultimate BMW without a doubt. So if you can swing it, you'll have the car of your dreams.
