Bought from a guy that recently got hit by a motorcyclist. Passenger front door was badly damaged and that's it. the door still closed. Also noticed the front axel needed replacing and I noticed oil leaking from somewhere. So why did I buy it? Not really sure other than it was something I could wrench on and it looked amazing standing still.

Ok picked up a month ago and now drives Like a dream and I couldn't have done it without this forum! Heres what I did:

Used color matched door =$300 shipping included
New front Axles = $120 "passenger side is a real pain"
New Inner and outer Tie Rods =$60
New Stab links = $40
New Brakes - Calipers, Rotors, Pads = $240 "unexpected cost due to frozen caliper"
Valve cover Gasket Kit = $60
Vanos rebuild kit =$60
Spark Plugs = $30
Oil Stand Gasket = $20
CCV Pump and all hoses = $120 "said screw it and did it" Pain in the A??
Belts, tensioner, pulleys = $100
Speakers = $400 "regretting this purchase" got sucked in by positive reviews.
Fluids all royal purple - tranny, Diffs, Tranfer case, Motor oil = $130ish
Cabin and Main filter = $35

Think that's all of it. so that's around $1700 in parts. car now drives like a dream and as far as I can tell no leaks after about 250 miles. needs an alignment though but I almost nailed it. I think all I need to due know is overhaul the coolant system for around $400 and I should be good to go. that's going to have to wait for a few months that was a big job and I just want to enjoy the car for a while.

Anyways thanks to this forum you guys got me through most of it. loving the car and I hope I get 100K out of her. she purs now! Feels like I brought an E46 back from death.

Terry
Way to bring one back! If you haven't done the cooling system yet, I'd at least slap in a new expansion tank in.

Thanks, Deadfish. Yeah I'm just going to do a complete overhaul of the cooling system in July including new shocks all around and mounts. Do have a small issue with the damn yellow oil light coming on though. Ordered a new Level sensor and will through that in at the next oil change because oil level holding strong after about 2500 miles or so. Love the car though!

First bath since last October. To be fair, it was parked until March. The 650 got wet too, both were waxed.

Interesting color, what is that ? Those Angel eyes are cool, are they red ? Here in US and A, they would get you locked up faster than a trunk full of heroin !

Gold? Hahaha. Sorry mate I've only seen this BMW this colour and a coupe. Ever. Someone else will know the actual name. The colour caught my eye initially too. As for the lights...well they aren't legal so I'm waiting to get pulled over, I want normal white ones or amber as they are legal. Cops look at me all the time but no one ever wants to pull me over, so I haven't taken them off lol.
