is there coding option to change strength of regen braking? my i3 seems much LESS aggressive compare to my brother's i3, i.e. virtually impossible to exercise one foot pedaling.

Unfortunately not, at least not that we have discovered yet.

after reading the coding guide, it appears that "Change FA (VO) to Remove 6NH from VO & Add 6NS to VO" shall be done before any coding for i3. is it correct understanding?
what does FA stand for? VO?
also do i need to create new FA before any coding?

sorry about the novice questions... the guide seems detailed, but lacks cookbook type guide for first timer...

VO Coding should always precede FDL Coding, as it will override all previous coding.

FA is German for Fahrzeugauftrag, which is Vehicle Order or just VO.

1) my i3 do not have 6NH. What should i do?
still add 6NS?

2) Without add anying in FA, I proceeded with the guide, and it failed when reading SVT.

Click on "Coding" button.
Read FA (VO).
Activate FA (VO).
Read SVT <--- failed

if i try to read ECU, it read.

3) Another question is my vehicle i-step is I001_16_03_505.
database is I001_15_03_502
why don't i get any errors like not found or whatever?

4) I just downloaded PSdzData.Lite.v3.59.3.002 which contains I001_16_07_503
may i just delete "I001_15_03_502" folder and copy "I001_16_07_503" in to "C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\I001" and be fine with that? or should i replace entire psdzdata folder? E-Sys is 3.25.3

1. Yes, just Add 6NS.
2. Yes, just use Read ECU. This is how i3 is.
3. That is question for BMW AG as if this is the case, they simply have not updated any of your ECU's firmware between 15_03_502 and 16_07_503.
4. No. Delete entire PSdZData Folder and replace with new one. And for 59.x PSdZData, make sure ytou are running E-Sys 3.27.1.

Just out of curiosity...
If E-Sys 3.25.3 is used with PSdzData.Lite.v3.59.3, what'd be the ill effect?
Simply would not work? or would it brick the car?

Not possible. It won't work. 59.x requires E-Sys 3.27.1 or higher to even work.

I just bought an i3, Thursday. Having it coded next week to enable the 2.4 gallon tank (among other things). Can anyone tell me what kind of range I can expect with code change?

Also having the following coding done:
Auto unlock doors when engine is stopped
Enable PSI and temperature in TPMS
Enable GTS style blinking brake force lights
Enable i3 REx 2.4 gallon tank
Enable i3 REx "Hold" mode

You should get about 25% more REx range than the EPA Monroney sticker that came on the car says.

SOC display gone?

after enabling "Enable Hold-Mode for Range Extender", SOC display in dash board scr (behind the wheel) is gone. I can only see SOC from REX menu in center screen. is it expected behavior?

Few more coding questions:

1) with E-sys 3.27.1 & PSdzData.Lite.v3.59.3, "Enable Hold-Mode for Range Extender" shall be set to 02 (REX), not 01 (PZEV) as appeared in tutorial. anyone else to confirm?

2) what is "enable developer option"?

3) what is "navi trip-import"?

4) what is "video in motion"?

Hi Folks!

I've got an interesting question for all you coders out there. So I coded by car earlier this year to my hearts delight. All the fun bells-n-whistles, but most importantly the fuel tank to 2.5g and the Hold SOC. So yesterday I brought my car up to take care of a service notification (2-yr brake fluid flush). While up there, the guys decided to reprogram my car due to a technical service bulletin, SIB612116. I was a little annoyed because it would wipe my settings, but I didn't fret since coding was easy. That night I hooked up the ole' laptop and downloaded the latest psdzdata lite (59.4.004) from my fav link (I already have the latest E-sys). I then connected to my car and went to work. And this is the odd part...when i connected and read the ECU, I only had 2 modules. Simply BDC_Body and BDC_GW. And BDC_Body had the only CAFD to read and edit. No HU or KOMBI or any of the other modules that you'd look at to code.

Any ideas why this is? Could this simply be a case that I have newer software than the psdzdata? I will say that I could not find any information on the service bulletin when I googled it. I was about ready to take a trip on Friday and I really wanted to have...at a minimum...the Hold SOC since I'm heading to the Mountains and I want to make sure my car isn't putzing up the mountain because I can't insure I have enough charge beforehand.

You need to connect via VIN and not Gateway URL and using the correct connection target.

If car was reprogrammed though, after you connect in order to read and code all modules, you will need latest PSdZData, and if you do not have E-Sys 3.27.1, it will necessitate you udpate to it as well. PM sent.

Thanks Shawn. I am connecting via the VIN. And I should have the latest psdzdata (59.4.004) and e-sys (3.27.1). Maybe I'll try reinstalling with the PM stuff you sent later tonight. I appreciate it!

When you only Gateway Module (BDC) showing in SVT, normally it is an issue with your connection parameters, not your software. But as I said, you need to update anyway if you recently were programmed.

hello i did ask that in another thread, so here i think is the right place for that question

Did someone code driving assistant plus (self steering). So that it could be used on all roads, not only autobahns (freeways). And maybe removed the top speed of 60km/h (40mph) ?

tnx

what was before that? i think it would be perfect with about 110 km/h so we could track slow trafic with self steering. Can it be coded?
