Your price is heavy but I guess a service is worth whatever someone is willing to pay... That said, I think you should at least let people keep the cable etc. after the process is complete for the next time they take their car to the dealer and they loose much of their coding during an update. The cables can be had on eBay for under $20 and since you buy them in bulk, you get them for less. They are not a one time purchase and if someone wants to not only code your car, but keep it coded, they will need the cable again.

Taken,

I concur with your sentiments. I would also like to add some potential customers may already have the usb drive and cable. A pricing option for these users should also be considered.

Cheers!

They provide free programming if the dealership wipes the vehicle.

The coding is flat rate 179$ since Anti Dazzle is a Retrofit it would be an additional 40$ as stated

The reason I am asking for only Anti Dazzle coding is because I can do all other changes myself. I have a cable and software.

It's like jailbreaking an iPhone. You can make your car do more. Or you can mess it up.

Among other reasons for "coding," modern cars have software-defined market segmentation. So the manner in which a mirror folds automatically in, say, Bahrain, might not be the same way it behaves in London. Or the colors of the LED dash line enabled by your _35 vehicle "model" (or via a luxury package) might be more numerous than the colors of the LED dash line that are enabled on someone else's _28 vehicle model, since it cost less. The more money you spent, more stuff was enabled at the factory: BMW doesn't whittle each car out of a block of wood, as if it's unique to you. They merely turn on features in software. They make stuff "aktiv" in code. Hence, "coding." More accurately, it should be called "re-coding." It's a cottage industry.

Here's where it gets fun, though. You might prefer the European headlight treatment, or you might want to turn off engine stop/start permanently. But you might need certain hardware to make those changes work at all. Absent EXACTLY the correct headlight hardware or engine, you might instead have your blinkers go all wonky, or your rear wiper might do something funny, like wipe whenever you listen to FM radio, or whenever your passenger turns on a seat heater. I'm exaggerating, yes. But things can become unpredictable. At a minimum, they're almost certain to be untested. So a lot of folks call in "coding" specialists. Several are here.

Some code tweaks are quite benign. Others are rather more aggressive.

Also, just like jailbreaking an iPhone, don't look to Verizon (or your BMW SC) to happily sort out your mess if you do it wrong. They might reset your car to factory defaults, at best, and charge you for the privilege. And, depending on the level of wonkiness, it might involve flatbedding your vehicle to the BMW SC... or worse.

By default, your speedometer reads abut 3-5% higher than your actual speed. You can have this corrected to show your actual speed via a coding change.

Well, officer, you aren't going to believe this. That's a very nice hat you have there, sir. Anyway, you see, a BMW's speedometer reads 3-5% higher, and, um...
