The E36 M3 is a blast to drive also. I Just like the E46 more because it's more refined. Yet not TO much to where your like wtf is this. Like when you get in a new F82 M car.. you get in and go "wtf is this ****"
The E36 M3 was a good balance between raw and refined. Despite the 225 HP rating, it was a zippy little thing. I know the people who did the usual bolt-on goodies and added some rather aggressive cams had some crazy highway killers.

I've yet to drive an F80/82, but I have driven an F30 335i. It was extremely smooth, cushy, and had plenty of power, but it just didn't have that "wow" factor when tossing it around a twisty road. The steering, despite tightening up when speeds increased, was still easy enough to give me a little bit of fear that I may put in too much input and break the front tires loose, resulting in a nasty understeer crash. (Considering it was the dealereship's, I didn't want to push it harder than I already was.)

Maybe they tightened things up in the F80... dunno.

In all honesty I've never driven a stock 335 or F82 M3/M4.... so I can't entirely say.

What I can tell is that I felt the F82 M3/M4 was TO nice and it didn't FEEL like it was built for the track or any track use at all.... it was weird.

While the 335 still feels sporty it doesn't feel TO nice lol

Also I might mention that. Mine has full 2013 interior including the idrive... not 2007. So mine feels brand new inside basically.

So an update....

The original turbo that was used going on the setup had blown seals on start-up. I'm going to do a separate post about that later ( giving the supplier I chance to correct things )

Meanwhile I'm not going to wait for that and I wanted a better turbo anyways. So the update is this.

Ordered a new turbo and it should be here this week.

I want to see it run and videos of it just as much as you guys do trust me!.
This project is taking much longer then expected and running into many hurdles. This car was truly never meant to be single turbo and it shows LOL.

Either way we had the first start on the old turbo. Car idled and seemed to run just fine. Unfortunately the original single turbo was blown already.
I'll be writing a full review/comments on about how terrible a certain companies service is soon enough.
They still have a chance to set things right.... but it's not looking good for them.

Either way here's a teaser pic of what's going on. The new turbo, coolant tank, power steering relocation and the custom charge pipe with 50mm blow off valve.

Test fit of new turbo was good.

Also on the turbo itself it has a rectangle oil drain. But it comes with a round flange and rectangle gasket.
I was reading about this and apparently that's rather normal... which I find absolutely retarded considering it's just going to leak rather soon with that design. I mean that's how it's comes.. very stupid.

SO I did some digging and found an aftermarket flange that fit's perfectly. I've put pictures here so you can see what I mean.

This is the flange it comes with.

Now here's the new flange under and the turbo on top.

And here's the test fit.

So awesome...I am a turbo dunny....why single huge turbo and not 2 smaller units? Seems lag would be way worse?

The N54-equipped 335i comes stock with two small turbos, which you're right about... they produce little to no lag. With all the bolt-on goodies, you can easily make around 425 WHP with those stock turbos.

Stick on a single big turbo and toss in some E85. Now you're looking at big power. Like... 700+ at the rear wheels.

That's the plan.

Actually there's little to no lag on the setup. The turbo may look giant but it isn't to big for the engine displacement and stock power without the turbos.

This is how turbo lag works.

First it's how close they are to the actual engine/on the exhaust manifold.

Second What type of exhaust side is it? Twin scroll? V-Band? T3/T4? It's known that Twin scroll spools faster and V-band isn't far behind. While T3/T4 is laggy. I have a V-band exhaust side.

Third a/r= area radius ( THIS is one of the most important ) The smaller the area radius you'll have a lot of low end power and far less turbo lag. Finding the right size a/r is extremely important for the application. I went with .82 a/r. Which is mid level. Not to low and not to high. It will cause me to have a little less top end power. But A LOT of low end.

And finally compressor wheel size. The compressor size of my turbo is only 62mm. The reason it looks so giant is because my inlet/cold/intake side is 4" and not 3" like usual small to mid sized turbos. My turbo is considered mid sized. Other then the intake side.

With all that all that said I'll have hardly any turbo lag either. Unless say I'm in 6th gear at 1k rpm and slam my foot into the gas.

The current way it's setup it spools around 3,700rpm. Which is quite amazing.

THIS.

The plan is to daily it at 23psi at around 600whp. And track it around 32psi at 850whp.

Dejvan`s purpose-built 3.6 liter turbo motor puts down over 700 RWHP @ 22 psi of boost. You should be fairly close to this when you get it all sorted out !
