Decent oil, better then Mobil 1 0w30 but there is better then castrol out there. What you got isn't the euro formula. I'm also in Canada.

After some reseach I found this Castrol full synthetic 5W-40 with BMW LL-01 specs. Now is that too heavy for an old 3 series engine?

No. 5w40 is within spec for your engine. I've been using it year round for years.

Go for liqui moly next time, it's much better then castrol. You'll feel a difference.

Liqui moly seems way too expensive compared to Castrol

Look online, liqui moly isn't very expensive compared to Castrol.

You get what you pay for. It's better oil then Castrol.

If you want cheap good oil, grab some shell rotella for cheap.

How do you reset the cabin filter light in system after changing the filter. Youtube videos show only for e90s. E92 is a bit different and can't find that option

I did a power stearing fluid change today for having a tight steering. I sucked out the fluid twice n filled it . when i took it for short ride after I am now hearing a mild hydraulic pump squeek noise
