you should get on the other forum bimmer post as it has a lot more detailed sections and more information shared it seems in my short stint between the two.

here's the thread:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1172241

here's the dinan page on it:
https://www.dinancars.com/product/d9...ries&mid=1237/

basically a dinan flash of the VDM unit to alter damping profiles of adaptive M suspension for a better performance ride/handling experience.

The wheels are the 442M's, that were the stock silver color. They were sandblasted, and then powder coated gloss black by a power coater in Clifton, NJ.

That is the air vent, normally they are chrome, but on the M package all the chrome is blacked out.

Removed the mid/front muffler on my '16 330e M-sport today to get a bit more grunt from the exhaust.

Didn't change a lot to be honest. A bit louder, but more or less exactly the same engine note.

Before/After pics attached.

Curious how my 328 would sound with all but the final muffler removed... I've seen before that the n20 engine cars have a flapper in one of the mufflers, to make it louder at WOT vs just cruising - Anyone know where exactly that is?

It's a butterfly valve and used at startup to help engine warm up.

That's interesting, I heard that there was a resonance device in one of the mufflers that basically changed sound levels at different engine speeds, a valve that bypasses some of the baffles in the muffler. That isn't a BMW only thing; I've heard of other brands doing this as well, as a way to make the engine sound more aggressive at higher RPM and quieter at lower RPM. Mazda in particular stands out, but I know Ford has done it as well. Some aftermarket muffler makers also do a bypass that completely bypasses the entire muffler, either via a valve on a pressure switch set to open at certain engine speeds, or via a remote switch to manually control it. But, if the one in my BMW - if I even have one - does more than change the noise, probably best to leave alone.

I pressed refresh on my browser about 10 times today as my 440 msport 6MT has been in "production ends" status for 15 days and I'm not so patiently waiting to see her get on the boat.
