Warranty Extension for 335is N54T Charge Pipe

BMW extends N54 charge pipe warranty 10 years

For the eligible vehicles, BMW of North America, is extending the limited warranty for the engine’s intake charge-air duct to 10 years/120,000 miles as determined by the vehicle’s original in-service date.

Effected Models
  • E92 335is Coupes (N54T engine) - 2011-2013 produced from 4/6/2010 to 6/14/2013
  • E93 335is Convertibles (N54T engine) - 2011 - 2013 produced from 3/11/2010 to 10/1/2013

Information
  • This is a a limited warranty extension and NOT a Recall or Service Action
  • No immediate repair allowed by BMW unless your BMW is currently experiencing this problem
  • This “component-specific” limited warranty extension applies to defects in materials or workmanship
  • This coverage is subject to the same vehicle eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusions that apply to the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty
  • The pressure sensor, only in conjunction with a required replacement of the of the intake charge-air duct

Warranty Information
The engine’s intake charge-air duct limited warranty extension to 10 years/120,000 miles applies to eligible US-specification BMW vehicles that are registered, operated and have their covered repair performed by an authorized BMW center in the United States (including Puerto Rico).

This coverage supersedes the coverage that is provided under the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Program or any BMW Group Vehicle Service Contract that applies to the vehicle.
The existing limited warranty coverage for the whole vehicle and other components has not changed.

Should the intake charge-air duct fail again, this component is covered by the remaining portion of the extended limited warranty coverage period.

Previous Repairs Reimbursement
Under this extended limited warranty, BMW NA will provide reimbursement for “qualifying customer-pay repairs” that were performed on an eligible vehicle prior to the release of this component-specific limited warranty extension.

My charge pipe burstred yesterday during acceleration on my 2012 335is. Thanks for posting this. I took it in today and they were not able to pull this extended warranty up. How can I reference this to them so they can look it up on their database?

Stock charge pipe sucks anyway, probably better off getting aftermarket.

I wanna be happy about this extended warranty but i want to upgrade to something much better.

I too upgraded to an aftermarket CP. Don't want to find myself stranded on the road.

The good news is: You won't be - even with charge pipe completely off, she runs, power reduced. No prob getting to where you want to be.

But that's not how I approach caring and servicing my vehicles. I don't do 'stuff' just to get by.

Trust me - if the charge pipe pops off, you'll have no problem reaching safe harbor.

Not a trust issue, I'd just rather avoid the situation all together.
