2003 325xi transmission won't go in reverse

My 325xi won't go in reverse. Any ideas why?

Check the fluid level if possible.

Most likely will need a transmission rebuild. How many miles on it?

Check the fluid as noted. But, I bet your tranny has a bad reverse drum. Time for a rebuild. Sorry.

Btw, the tranny was made by GM of France.

The xi cars did have the GM transmission. The GM transmission does not have the reverse drum problem. That problem is common on the ZF.

No reverse on the GM is usually caused by something stuck in the valve body like a solenoid. Search no reverse GM on e46fanatics. This problem has been fixed many times and never required a "rebuild". That would only be a waste of money fixing stuff that does not need to be fixed.
