have a P0153 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1), can anyone tell me if this is the regulating or monitoring sensor and if it's for the cat nearest the passenger or driver. thanks
bank 1 is the 1st set of 3 cylinders that share a manifold, bank 2 is the second (closest to the firewall). sensor 1 designates pre cat sensor (fuel trim monitor), while sensor 2 is the catalyst efficiency monitor.
on 'v' design motors, bank 1 is where cylinder 1 is designated (manufacturer specific), and bank 2 is the other one, not necessarily where cylinder 2 was located. (for example, gm designated #1 cylinder and the rest of the ones on that side all odd, and the other were evens, while ford numbered them sequential so #1 and 2 were on the same head)
If you get an o2 sensor tool, there like 15 bucks from autozone, it makes getting those 2 sensors out so much easier.
