Park break light is showing on the dash , car is still drivable but no matter what I press the light doesn't go away . I believe it isn't functioning . Any experiences with this ??
If your parking brake actuator is not working then that's your answer but only you can help us help you by letting us know if your parking brake actually works.
ASSUMING the actuator is bad...you can replace the actuator. Or I believe someone opened on up and was able to fix it by scrounging internal parts from another unit.
SEARCH will give you quite a few ideas on diagnosis, fix, etc.
Thanks guys , so car drives but I can't apply the hand break . So I'm guessing a it's broken and when I turn the car on it says park break failure thanks for the advice
Somewhat of a common problem and very likely your actuator. Part cost brand new $600 for aftermarket and $1000 for Genuine BMW.
