Hello,
The AC on my 2009 X5 E70 stopped working, getting code A72F - Compressor Clutch [Junction-Box Electronics] and can see the clutch is not engaging. Gas [freon] gauge indicates the system is full but no cold air; if anything, the blown air is warmer than ambient when AC is on. All AC fuses are good....is there a relay somewhere that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated, getting into the 80s soon. Thx.

The ECU must enable the AC clutch. IIRC the motor must be able to support additional torque >20 Nm and up to 30 Nm. (Torque times angle rate is power)

Pressure in a static AC system is the saturation pressure for temperature for the refrigerant and nearly meaningless. Pressures in an operating AC are guidelines to an experienced technician.

The BMW IHKA HVAC is a hot water controlled system. There is a cold start interlock that warms HVAC air until stable temperatures are established. The BMW IHKA HVAC technical description is in the E70 knowledge base sticky. It's 70 pages long.
