Extend warranty....or chance it.

@ jadnashuanh

The warranty on my GT expired last month. I thought long and hard about extending the warranty, but decided against it.
I thought I was the only one who even considered "chancing it". Given the driving history of my GT, it just didn't make financial sense (for me).
Knock on wood, the only mechanical issue I've ever had dealt with was the battery. Warranty replaced that before it expired. Everything else has been cosmetic. For example, scratches along each window edging and rusting on rotor drum. The latter was fixed by the dealer by painting. Looks so much better now.
I work from home and own 3 vehicles. Unfortunately, the GT doesn't see much driving time. I also own a Corvette and love everything about that car. The exhaust purrs like a lioness.
Anyway, I decided against an extended warranty. I am confident I made the right decision. Good luck with your decision too.

5 year experience 2010 550 GT xi

I bought a used 550 GT with 40,000 miles CPO. I convinced them to replace rear run flats and perform the N63 customer care. Actually blew a sensor out on test drive. Got a great price and took it home. Noticed the slow backing out of garage pop in front left suspension mention on this forum and it was a wheel bearing - no issues since. Front right started wearing on outside and rotated to back but car has a noticable vibration and Im wondering if the tire needs balanced. Also there is dull low rumble from the motor - that seems to be getting louder. Lifters?
The car was sucking oil - 1 quart every 2k and I showed them the crankcase vent issue and they replaced the valves and now driven over 5k with no oil use.

The car is awesome in so many ways but just don't feel comfortable with the finicky issues - Lexus is absolutely zero worry.

I am going to balance tires and if does not fix replace rears but I guess Im stuck going run flat.

Plan to sell before warranty runs out in July.
