Please forgive what might be a stupid question. I understand what rev-matching is on the downshift, but I've also seen the term used on the up-shift. Are we talking about double-clutching while up-shifting? I mean RPMs normally drop as you shift to a higher gear. Am I missing something?
Heck on dog tooth engagement racing gearboxes you don't even use the clutch on upshifts.
Just a slight lift and into the higher gear.
