The lower alternator bolt on my X3 is via idler pulley

Is it a T50 or T55 Torx I need to remove ?

Yes, so definitely a T50 on a 2004 2.5i if you need to remove the idler/deflection pulley in order to access the alternator.

(The belt releases with a regular wrench size on the mechanical tensioner as you probably already know - unless it's been upgraded to a hydraulic tensioner.)

Thank you for quick answer. Need more DIY videos for 2004 X# 2,5 L I would do one for plugs and serpentine belt but some exist.
Alternator video would be messy since I screwed up plug forcing it off the old alternator. Not big fan of BMW electrical plugs.
