My son drives a 2004 325ci. It has 120K miles on it. It needs tires. He only drives around town, to school, etc. Anyone recommend a reasonably priced tire?
Ofthelost, your PS line gave me a good laugh there!
I appreciate the explanation there, and I expected it would be almost futile comparing different categories of tires. that being the case, it may come down to a choice of price and life expectancy for the tires.
Anybody running the Michelin Premier A/S tires on a 2002 325i standard model in 205/55/R16? The OE is no longer available from Michelin. PO replaced the OE tires one time. Currently at 127k miles and tires are dry rotted on sidewall as well as tread bead. All around driving to work and play. Will probably garage in bad weather. Cheers!
Don`t be concerned with trying to duplicate the OEM rubber....in many cases, it`s not worth it, better tires are available now as opposed to then. For a great-performing All Season tire, the Conti DWS really can`t be beat. Many happy fans of the DWS on this Forum.
For more than light-to-moderate snow, a good dedicated snow tire mounted on a separate set of dedicated winter wheels is the way to go. E46s, with their perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and proper winter tires, makes for a surprisingly good all-weather vehicle. Lack of ground clearance becomes the determining factor.
Thank you all for your help. I pulled the trigger on the Michelin Premier A/S and am happy so far. I'll update after a few thousand miles.
Cheers!
