2014 M6 Extended Warranty - Adviseable?

I am considering buying a 2014 M6 convertible with only 11K+ miles from a BMW dealer. It is coming off a lease and the original BMW warranty is good until April of 2018. BMW said that they will not certify it because the first oil change was called for at 1,200 miles but the leasee did not have it done until 4,800 miles. The dealer will provide an extended 5yr/60K mile extended warranty through the Zurich company (i.e. good through 6/2022 or a total of 60,000 miles - whichever occurs first) for $3,586. The dealer says that they also have an extended warranty option backed by BMW but the dealer feels that the Zurich option is best because it covers everything that the original warranty does except maintenance items (e.g. brakes, oil changes, tires, etc.) and, if the dealer does the servicing, there is NO deductible. It is also transferable to a new owner should I decide to sell prior to '22.

I plan to use the car only in summers so I think my maximum miles/year will be 5K and I will certainly have all BMW-recommended maintenance done by the dealer and the car will not be pounded nor raced. Based upon my current estimate of usage I do not expect to do 60K miles by 2022 so I could purchase a lower total miles plan at less cost but I may decide to use it more and/or the maintenance agreement could be a valuable addition should I decide to sell the car prior to 2022.

Knowing how expensive maintenance can be for these cars I am inclined to purchase the Zurich plan. It will at least provide peace of mind even if the numbers are not ultimately justified.

But what do you all recommend? What are your thoughts? What have been your experiences?

And how significant do you think that first oil change sin was?

I appreciate whatever input you might have and thanks much in advance!

Wow, 11k miles only on the car.
I'd take it to indy shop specializing in BMW for $300-400, piece of mind. Tell the shop to look for accident or flooded etc stuff.

2014 M6 and younger is solid car as far as reliability goes; but if you want extra piece of mind always buy BMW backed ext-warranty than 3rd party one.
