Anyone used a Key Coder for new or used key FOB's

Has anyone bought, tried, or used successfully a Key Coder for the Key FOB in our cars?

PAPER has posted info about changing the chip to a blank one, which has been very helpful, but I am wondering about programming the keys ourselves.

Before I spend money to buy one any advice would be appreciated

I am looking at several available from China
