My guess is the exact opposite. The sponsors will say "You know what? Tony may be damaged goods, but he still a bigger name than any of the up and coming you drivers." Sponsors aren't part of the NASCAR corporation, but independent companies making their own decisions about what is best for them.

Looks like you're right. He's reportedly going to drive in a NASCAR race this weekend. Word I read is that the investigation by the law will take another couple of weeks. What can I say, people are mercenary. If sponsors think this guy will make them money, that's their main concern.

It hasn't played out yet however. The law might smite him and dirt track fans might pelt him with rotten food. If so, sponsors may reconsider.

People may watch him hoping that he crashes and dies, but as long as they're watching, they see the ads on the car...
