Interesting - I prefer the 13 version.

Allows me to get the M-Sport package without having to pay for the fancy seats...

I'm unsure if you are referring to Multi-contour seats. They removes it from 535i's M-Sport pack instead you have to get it via Luxury Seating Package. Strangely, Multi-contour seats are included with 528i's M-Sport. What gives?

And it does not add any suspension changes either on the 528, where on the 535 is does...

You really want those fancy seats. They are among the best.

Looks like for 2013 to get my same option mix, I'd be up around $3-4,000 more than my 2011. Part of that has to do with the loss of the "regular" Sport package.

For some, the 2013 is more expensive, but for others the difference is negligible.

My $0.02.

MY13 packages/options on the 535i are confusing since many features I find to be a necessity are either a la carte or bundled with other options in a package I don't need. Such is the case with Multi-contour seats, Park Distance, Rear View Camera & Navigation. MY12 packages/options suited the build I wanted.

I find MY13 and MY12 550 are very closely priced with their respective options/packages. What helps is that many features that are optional on the 535 are standard on the 550i so there are less options to worry about. The package/option list for my 550 build was much shorter that for the 535 build.

Ended up ordering a 13 550i.

Not anymore.

The updated build tool eliminates the complimentary Multi-contour seats from 528i's M-Sport package.

Exactly - less money for the package means no added charge for the seats I don't want
