Interesting news item. Sigalsport has purchased three M3's from PTG to race in 2006. It is odd that PTG will not even be racing in the finale though.

SIGALSPORT TO RUN WINNING BMW M3 GT AT MEXICO CITY!

Los Angeles, October 18, 2005: Sigalsport has recently acquired several PTG BMW M3s and one of the BMW M3s will be co-driven at Mexico City by Gene Sigal and Matt Alhadeff.
The Sigalsport BMW M3 Alhadeff Companies / Guarneros Racing Wear / Motul / GlycoMax / The Speed Gallery / Envista No. 05 will be the only BMW car to compete in the final round of the 2005 Rolex Sports Car Series. The BMW M3 has won seven Rolex Series GT races this season and its PTG BMW drivers have scored six pole positions.

Sigalsport’s BMW team will race at Mexico with the ambition to win and will try to score their first ever podium finish in the Rolex Series GT class. Sigalsport will be assisted by PTG BMW team technicians for this race to make sure we put all chances on our side to score big in Mexico. Gene Sigal and Matt Alhadeff will be testing their new BMW machine at Summit Point Motorsports Park, Virginia on Thursday to acclimate themselves with their new winning machine and to prepare the Mexican rendez-vous.

“I am so excited to race our new BMW M3 car with Matt Alhadeff in Mexico” announced team owner and driver Gene Sigal. “Acquiring these winning BMWs marks another milestone for our young team. We had a long season trying to score podium finishes with our Porsche GT3 Cup but I have to admit that the BMWs and the Pontiacs were more competitive than the Porsches and this is one of the main reasons why we made the calculated business decision to acquire these cars. Hopefully, entering the BMW M3 at Mexico City will give our team a chance to do well there and certainly bring outstanding experience to our entire team before next year’s anticipated 2006 Rolex Series GT battle.” Sigal continued.

Sigalsport will officially announce and unveil their 2006 racing plan to compete for the GT title in the Rolex Sports Car Series in a press conference at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez media center on Thursday, November 3.
