I have a question regarding the headlamp switch inside the car. For some reason, my low beams stay on ALL the time..and the control beside the steering wheel does nothing besides allowing me to turn the high beams and fog lights on/off. Im wondering how i could fix this problem? or is it even a problem at all??
Also...my headlights are soooooooooooooo dim....but the bulds are still in good condition...any suggestions on how to get them brighter somehow??
Sounds like you have Daytime Running Lights and you're confusing which light is which.
DRL runs your high beams (the inner lights) at 70% at all times whenever the car is on.
The switch inside the car turns your low beams on, and turns the brights off. The fog lights are tied into that switch if the fog lights switch is also on. If you turn the high beams on, with the switch on, the high beams will be at 100%.
my car does the same thing.. the LOW beams(outer) stay on even if the switch is off.. when you turn the switch on, it allows you to turn on the fog lights or high beams, .. even the tail lights stay on all the time.. so its not the DRL.. or its a different setup. ...
I looked at the manual and it is like wht u guys said..."Canadian version: with the ignition key in position 2, the headlights are automatically switched on (high beams dimmed)" ...they also mention that the low beams are on the outer lamps...however, the case with my car is that the low beams (outer ones) are constantly on...as are the tail lights and the only time the high beam lights (inner lamps) go on is when i turn my high beams on..
so i dont think its the day time running light....but now another problem arises since even the manual says the day time running lights should be dimmed high beams on the inner lamps.
Might be a Canadian module, then, assuming you both have Canadian cars. Check the owner's manual. There might be a mention of it.
