If anyone can tell me how to slightly adjust the position of the tail light assembly on my 2000 Z3 Roadster, it would be greatly appreciated.
The assembly is only about 2 millimeters out of line. The result is a slightly larger seam between the Passenger side assembly and the trunk lid. I imagine that if I can loosen the assembly, I can easily move it over just a touch.
Mine is an earlier version than yours, but you should be able to remove the back part from inside the trunk by loosening the plastic nuts. That should expose the mounting screws for the rest of the assembly.
My 1998 has three threaded studs in each tail light, however your post-face-lift model might be different. In fact RealOEM.com for your model year shows a nut with 12 required, or 6 per tail light.
It's also typical for the rubber seal to be stuck, but I would look for more screws first.
yeap, they can be quite sticky after being fixed in place for so long.
