I pick up my new 2011 X5d in 2 days!! My 3 labs are very excited about it but they need a barrier between the cargo area and the 2nd row of seats. I am wondering if anyone has found an easy to install and sturdy enough (can be net if it doesn't fall down) barrier?
I have a large 3/4 Siberian Husky, 1/4 Arctic Wolf. I simply move the backseat head rest up to their maximum position. He's tried to wiggle through the center seat, but has yet to be successful.
There is a company out of the UK that manufactures dog barriers specifically for the X5. I found their laying on eBay after I ordered my X5 in August.

We made a "custom" eggcrate pad for the back of the X5, for use with the back seat down. Our 2 labs, ages 3 and 4, are trained to lay down in the back, and they snooze for hours on our roadtrips. It's a great way to travel!
Just ordered the X5 50 on Friday...anyone have any issues with their pets being able to hop into the back/scratching the plastic on the bottom portion of the liftgate?
It's a pretty big leap for my dogs to get in. I have to help them get in the back. I have not looked to see if there are scratches and I'm not really concerned if there are as its going to get scratched. If I had to guess there are (or will be) scratches on the plastic. My bigger concern is all the damn hair.
BMW P/N - pet barrier runs 350.00
Its a net with metal insert poles. straps to bottom of seats and around head rests
