I only cleaned the tires with the pad, it works great for removing stubborn road grime. Also I didn't just rattle can the wheels. I spent 3 days prepping, sanding, cleaning every nook and cranny, and then used high quality, high heat, engine enamel and gave them all several durable coats. I didn't stop there either, I bought about four cans of duplicolor high performance wheel coating and clear coated all of them to protect them and prevent chipping. This was not a half ass job and if you are concerned about the durability of the finish do a few searches and you will find that wheel paint will take allot of punishment, its not a simple spray paint job.
