F01 reliability?

I haven't read as many horror stories compared to e65/66. Looking at the other board it seems like people are posting problems daily. Are the newer 7's made any better? Kinks worked out? Tranny problems??

Yikes, same here...

Ive had some issues, but once they replaced the computer control module its been running perfectly fine. All under warranty, given a loaner each time. And most importantly, it never has left me stranded on the side of the road.

I would get another 7 after this one, just optioned differently.

Mine is solid, exept for the runflats. i despise runflats and would never get them on another car. get the insurance on them.

Agree with Nicky.
Other than replacing two tires for pothole damage, my car has been perfect so far (2 years).
Get the wheel & tire warranty and you are good to go.

Well at least I only had to pay deductibles.

I've got only 12k so far. And so far no issues apart from minor glitches (awd error or two early morning start, etc that would go away). Certainly a whole lot better than my previous Audi. Not as good as the Lexus.

For what it's worth, I had my '11 750ix MSport for about 12.5K trouble-free miles...no problems either with the run flats. Pluses for me were Comfort Access, Premium Seats (best in the industry in my opinion), ride and handling...car drove much smaller than it was, and appearance. No minuses with this car for me. However, I wouldn't recommend an '09, just because that was the first production year for the F01/02.
