Been busy last month, so ....no so much time to clean my baby
I read good reviews about the BMW dealership here and I decided to bring my 2012 535i for a well deserved wash ( I know... I know... , my bad)
after receiving the car found 3 new scratches on the hood :bawling:
the service manager did recognize the damage and said that they will take care of the repair
the scratches are deep, no way the will be able to buff it out
by the way my car's color is jet black
If they can't buff it out, they will have to fix it. I always make sure to do the walk-around with my SA when checking my car in. I've had a couple instances where the car came back with bad scratches and they HAD to fix it because I had proof. Washing you car at the dealer, though? Ouch, man, that's just not smart
Detailers call geting your carwashed at the dealership:
DISO - Dealer Installed Swirl Option
In your case it was scratch option. I wouldn't let the dealer touch the car after this. You don't know what they intend to do. Are they going to just add touch up paint, are they going to strip the hood and repaint? I would get a third party certified BMW repair facility to look at it then have the dealer pay for that. Also, keep in mind when you go to sell the car it may show up on the car history, which will diminish it's value.
Listen to TJ. It's your car. Don't let them tell you what they will do, you decide what you want done.
While I'm at it, did they tell you that they did it, or did they 'admit it' after you pointed it out? If the answer is door #2 then I would never trust them with your vehicle again. In fact, I would make sure that BMWNA 'splained it to them.
when I received the car I noticed the scratches, they did not told me about it, :dunno:
but they where cooperative and said will repair it
by the way this is a leased car, so I dont want to pay for this repair in 2 years
"....I would get a third party certified BMW repair facility...."
does anyone knows a good one in Orlando/tampa area???
this is so frustating, I usually wash my car myself using the two bucket technique, several mits .......
