MF Question: What is the standard base rate?

The only MF I am aware of is 0.00145 for the 2013 ActiveHybrid 3. But is that the "sales support rate" or the "standard base rate?" If it's the sales support rate, does anyone know what the standard base rate currently is?

If it's region-specific, this is for the western region.

The whole Money Factor thing has confused me at times as well...when I locked the MF for my order back in May, I figured that .0019 would be what it is. When I actually went in last week to pick the car up and sign the paperwork, they told me because of my credit they were able to get me .00175. I didn't know it could go lower but sure enough. Dropped my payment another almost $20 because of it which is always good...

Sometimes rates go down enabling dealers to reap the windfall in the form of rate mark-up... When you negotiated your deal, did you agree to a certain mark-up amount, or a specific number?

The other thing to consider when you "lock" is that you also lock the residual.

I read it (and the OP probably did too). It doesn't address the question of what's the current standard rate (or rates by credit tier). If you know, why don't you indulge us.

Justin, nothing there answers my question about what the standard base rate MF is.

EDIT: TXPearl beat me to it. ...What he said.

Again, read: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...27&postcount=5

I thought posting the link would be enough for you to figure out (by reading) that standard rates vary based on what region you are in and what your credit tier is. Thus, without knowing your credit tier, it is impossible to determine what your actual standard MF is even knowing the region. The purpose of me posting this link is so that you can see what you are asking is impossible to reply to without either:

A: Knowing your credit tier.
B: Posting rates for every credit tier.

Now read this: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=22

Jon (The Founder of this webforum) and several CAs have said on this board repeatedly that BMW has personally sent them cease and desist letters for posting too much proprietary information on this forum. This is from their direct employer and the source of their income. Do you really think that they are going to post all the information you are requesting at the possible risk of another letter or further action?

Go talk to your local CA privately, because you are wasting your time asking for the same thing over and over again. It is not going to happen on a public posting for all the world to see. Read these other threads for more cease and desist information.

Fair enough, Justin. I didn't realize this was confidential information.

This cease and desist stuff even started before I became a member. I joined this site a little over a year ago, and took the time necessary to research what I wanted to know.

Everyone here talked about the confidential pricing sheets being such a resource. However, they were no longer listed when I started looking for them. When I couldn't find them, I did a search and found out why.

Two years later there is still a good information pathway, it's just not as transparent as before.

He's asking for money factors (which are regularly shared on this forum), not confidential pricing information. Or are you suggesting that standard money factors are confidential, but support rates are not??

How often do you see them posted? SSP rarely, standard close to never... Jon is very careful to hint, not disclose. Everyone is referred, used to be to Terry, now to RidewithG.

Money factors are nowhere near shared as much as they used to be, not by forum sponsors anyways. And don't quote the new guy, he's new and has not yet learned the pack'o'jackal feeding frenzy they create.

Jon tried to give you a hint. What if the rate now is .00135 reduced from .0019 ? You just got an expensive shaft of a .0004 markup.

True, but mentally I was prepared to accept .0019 and walked out with .00175 so I felt I got a good deal. If that is in fact true then it is a win-win (I got a lower rate than I originally thought I would, and my dealer got a little extra for their efforts). Its all good!

Thanks Justin for the assist. Anything that is "wholesale" is deemed confidential. That includes invoice pricing and lease/retail financing buy rates -- whether "standard" or "subvented" (i.e., sales support)...

Hey Jon, I definitely understand your liability on it so no worries there but it can't be too confidential since BMWConfig has all of the invoice pricing for all models. Not even sure I understand why BMW would want it confidential in the first place. Isn't it the dealers that would have an interest to make it confidential as opposed to the manufacturer?

Trust me, as soon as they appear on the radar, and BMWNA's lawyers figure out where to send the cease and desist letter, they'll be shut down.

It's not like you need bmwconfig anyways as long as you have MSRP.

Invoice = (Base X 0.92) + (Options and Lines X 0.91). Round to the nearest $5.

I had my numbers once the ordering guide hit, a week before bmwconfig put them up. Mine were right vs them being $10 higher. They usually have a problem with the rounding. It's to the nearest $5 up or down, but they always round up.

If the car had DCT the dealer cost is $430 while MSRP is $450, or 95.56%. It's the only exception to the 91% I'm aware of.
