640 exhaust

What's up fellow 6ers. I have had my baby for 5 months now and it's time to get her purring. With my 04 645 I removed the dual resonator replaced it with an xpipe added 2 1/4" pipe and magnaflow mufflers. It sounded amazing. To tell u the truth I stole the set up from a guy I met. But I have not been able to find a good sounding exhaust for the 640. I know it won't be quite the same since its a v6. But hoping to find some people who have clips of their 640 exhaust. Thanks in advance. And I'll throw some pics up of my baby latter....and update my profile from my last 6.

It's an inline 6, not a V.

Search for threads from SAMLAMBO. He has done some great things with his 640i (and some not so great). BUt he has researched the hell out of exhausts.

I was hoping someone would have a video of their exhaust so I can hear it. There are a few on YouTube but they all sound horrible.

Does anyone know if it voids the warranty of I get a new exhaust?

I don't think getting a new exhaust void the warrenty but I would ask my dealership just in case.

It shouldnt unless you have a problem in the future that the dealer can tie directly to the aftermarket exhaust. This would be a rare occurance.

Pulled the trigger on an exhaust today. Getting installed as I'm typing this. Should have a video posted by tonight. Crossing my fingers it sounds good. For those who don't know the set up of the stock exhaust (at least for the m sport 640) is 2.5" pipping to a dual resonator and then 2.25" pipping to the mufflers. On my 645ci I was able to ake out the dual resonator because there were 2 single resonators. Not the case for this car. Just the dual resonator.

Excited for the video, I hope it'll be a good one lol... 21questions lol, who's doing the instal or the custom work? What kind of exhaust did you go with? Are you changing the tips? Interested to see/hear the setup...some driving shots would be good too, can't wait!!!

Well it's done!! It's not as loud as some like but it's almost what I wanted. Was hoping for a little deeper but not bad for an inline 6. Total cost 480 with parts labor and taxes. Got the work done by my local body shop that I always go to...Mufflers West in temecula, ca

What exactly did they do for $480' , it sounds just like a stock 640 IMO ... I'd want a bit more if I got an exhaust
