Just got the whole cleansweep setup and I have know idea how to install it, I know the wires connect to the speakers but where would it go through the l7 or what? Please help
Not only is the one review on their website calling it a very sad product but it doesn't seem to be fiber optic compatable.. it may not need to be, it may connect to the outputs of the L7 I dont know, but I don't think anyone here will know, may want to call JL..
Cleansweep taps into the speaker wires to get a signal...cleans it up and then spits it out via RCAs. I've used this product before many times in the past. Great if you want to keep the factory head unit and add amps/subs/etc. If adding subs, tap into the rear most speakers so you aren't running wire all the way down the car.
You need to tap in full range speakers. Basically your L7 amp stays in place an you tap into the speaker wires going from the logic 7 amp. Are you adding a sub?
The Cleansweep is barely 4 channel audio with FL, FR, RL & RR signals. There is no dedicated subwoofer channels, tweeter channels, etc. You are going to need external crossovers to split up the signal and get the sound right. Adding more insult to injury, the factory system has WAY to many inputs for the cleansweep to accept! To fix this you need to spend more money on a JL summer (http://www.jlaudio.ca/cl-ssi-car-audio-oem-integration-98112) to add up the signals.
IMO, do it the right way and get an Rocksford Fosgate 3.Sixty.3. It has 8 channel inputs so you can do the FL Tweeter and Mid, FR Tweeter and Mid, the subs and then the RL & RR mids. Then you go through PROPER tuning software with a mic and other stuff and tune it to YOUR LIKING.
OR you can get the JBL MS-8 which you hook up the same way as the 3.sixty.3 and setup a mic and set it to auto config. The HILARIOUS part is that it uses Logic 7 processing
In any case the Cleansweep is going to be useless since it needs the WHOLE 20hz to 20KHz Signal to "retune" it and make it flat, but the problem with that is that you need all the adapters, and then you'll have ****ty outputs since it only provides outputs for door speakers and not subs.
Return the cleansweep and just use the tecknic harness.
the clean sweep will come into play if you are totally rewiring the audio system. The clean sweep goes after the ask unit and by passes the Logic 7 amp. you will install new amps as the amplification for the car, new power amps.
