Yes, that is the engine block, yes coolant flows through it... yes, you drain it from the bottom without the baptism. Discuss.

Fool proofing coolant flushes. :thumbup:

I will tell you later where I got the inspiration from. It's quite ingenious.

Looks like a factory piece.

Can you elaborate more on what you did, and what you used?
Actually, it is not BMW at all (yes it is from Germany). Yes it fits 17 mm nut, yes there is a banjo bolt in there. Yes it uses two flat washers, .5 mm thick.

I basically sat underneath a 5 series, then it dawned on me... why the hell should we get bathed or spill coolant everywhere when you can just direct it down a bloody tube, and cap it with a 5 mm bolt. It is a washer as well.

The piping and the spout (at the bottom) are not OEM BMW, but the rest of the parts are. :)

By the way, makes draining the coolant much more quicker as well.
