God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Whats a funner engine

Ok well like is say whats the funner an better engine for a e30 a m20 or a m30 (i know the m30 didn't come with the e30) but what would be funner to have i don't care about gas cause i guess gas here is cheaper then most places 3.33 per gallon

Im doing a M30 swap. I drove my buddies and it really makes the little e30 a blast to drive. For the money best bang for the buck IMO.

i'd go 24v. about the same price and its not ancient technology.

another thign to consider is how much the m30 weighs. long block to long block the m30 weighs 20lbs more, go and add all those heavy aluminum accessories vs the m50's plastic accessories and you've got a pretty heavy motor.

considering they are almost the same price .. there is almost no reason to go m30. unless you think a few more ft lbs of torque is worth the additional costs of fuel every year.

not really m50s are EVERYWHERE here and always all over craigslist. m30s are getting older and pretty hard to find parts.

not in the states. having owned an m50 and having worked on a few m30's for misc parts .. the m50 was easier to work on.
