Hello to the forum members. Allow me to introduce myself. I live in Upper West Side of Manhattan, my name is Jason. Have a new 6 month old baby, and 3 pugs one of which is 15 years old, he requires a dog stroller for weekend getaways and vacations it folds up but bulky. Also the baby of course has a rather big stroller that also folds up. Also have a wife .
So, it's me, wife, baby, 3 pugs, plus 2 strollers, plus luggage if on vacation. Old pug is Timmy, hence the user id timthepug.
So, when the wife and I were first dating she had recently bought a 1998 subaru impreza awd, and we just kept driving it and still have it. It has 145,000 miles, runs very well. I have fixed it once in a while, other times brought to shop. I park it on the street in my neighberhood in manhattan.
Back when I was going to college I had a 1972 bmw 2002 tii. This is a long time ago, late 80's. Funnest car I ever had. Fast and handled well. This gives me yearning in heart for another bmw.
Now I need a new car due to baby, Theo. Can't fit in old '98 subie anymore!!
Saved my pennies and can swing up to 35k cash. Was thinking a 2011 or 2012 328xi wagon. certified pre owned was thinking.
1. Will it have enough room for a vacation trip for my family as I described it. current old 1998 Subaru definitely too small.
2. Is this a vehicle I can own for 10+ years and put another 120,000 miles on it without spending a butt load of money fixing it.
3. Would prefer stick shift, is it hard to find?
Thanks
