I only pointed out that the 335is sounds better than the video clip of the 335i. You then needed to split hairs, again. My point, is that they are both BMW models and not cars that have post manufacturing add-ons.

Model for model, the 335is does sound better than the new 335i. You are correct that it is a special model and it should sound better.

The fact that you felt the need to insert that YOURS sounds better says something about you.

You can think it, might even be fact, but why did you need to reply in this forum?

What does it add to the question being asked?

How does it help the op asking if the 335i has a roar, that YOUR car which is not in question sounds better?

Sometimes you want to be own to earth and want and miss lighter simpler cars without tech, then the next you want to be picked on for your success as you say and your car collection. So which is it? Down to earth, humble and approachable, or so well off that everyone is jealous and we need to be reminded of it if we dare disagree with you?

Yes, because YOURS has a better sounding exhaust he should abandon the idea of an F30 after you admitted to never hearing the M exhaust which the F30 can be optioned with.

By the way, the M Performance exhaust is down to under $900 free shipping from a BMW dealer on eBay. So to the op, even if you buy a car with a stock exhaust, it's not a $$ option after the fact.

How does the F30 335i sound with the performance exhaust? Does it sound as good as the 335is? Have you compared the two side-by-side?

Honestly, I pay no attention to online exhaust clips.

They do a terrible job of accurately capturing real world sound.

I have heard the IS in person and it was a nice middle ground between stock and aftermarket.

Same for the M Performance.

I have yet to be in a scenario where both are side by side IRL.

The M Performance stuff is kind of a unique proposition until IS or M335s arrive.

You can outfit carbon interiors, big brakes, aero body kit, wheels, exhaust, tune, all at the dealer or at time of delivery, and get a warranty, or be like me and take advantage of the 20-40% off of buying with the CCA discount. How about in a year or two when this stuff is on closeout.

To properly judge the MS exhaust, hear it in person. If your IS still sounds better, great, but at least you listened to know.

The MP exhaust is also offered on the 328 too.

FYI, under WOT the 335is has a db level of 78, the F30 is 77. And the M performance exhaust is louder.

I'd say that your neighbor has great taste in cars. I also admire women who drive Corvettes and Porsches. But, I'm sure there are many more women in and around where you live who drive a 328i. I mostly see women driving the 328i where I live.

The db level is only one measure of sound, which the loudness, or db level is limited by law. The actual exhaust note that is audible to the human ear can be quite different. The 335is has a unique exhaust note, and from my own perception, is tuned and sounds different as compared to the E90-E93 335i with a BMW performance exhaust.
