I am not going to speculate what the outcome will be, but other courts around the world (i.e. UK, Germany) have already ruled on this matter, mostly in Samsung's favor.

Once you buy in, the fact that everything just works is great to me. As far as Android, their business approach is sound (volume) however, each hardware manufacture presents the OS in a different way. If you don't make good selections you can get stuck with a sluggish, less that great performing machine (HTC Inspire), even though the specs look good on paper. At the end of the day though, it really comes down to what each person likes the best. Some love the open-source world of Android that lets you customize to your hearts desire. I happen to like Apple's closed system, since I need my smartphones to do 3 things well, voice (its a phone afterall), text and send/receive data (web/email/apps), and I have little to no need for excessive ability to customize outside of selecting the apps that I want.
+1

Also, killer apps for me are Facetime (free video-calling with my family around the world) and the fact that when I am traveling I don't really need to worry about a charger as everyone has some sort of iPhone dock.

I do like some of the Android h/w designs and not sure why the iPhone is so heavy compared to Androids.

I am not going to speculate either. I do know that Apple has every right to try to defend whatever they have that is original work and is patented by them, and then let the courts decide.

From the look and feel standpoint, it seems Apple isn't really arguing they have the original work, clearly several others were more original. Apple is saying Samsung specifically said they needed to copy Apple's design in order to compete.

That by itself is a great marketing argument, not a legal one.
