This may just my noob status coming out, but for some reason, after having to detach and unplug my rear-view mirror and ship it off to Sybesma's Electronics for refurbish, my radio went silent and wouldn't turn on, although the nav screen worked fine and fuses were fine. (chromatic paint for auto-dimming leaked and dripped down mirror face. Only $90 w/ shipping. At dealer, $600 part and $200 labor to twist it off/on and unplug/plug!! Insane!!).
I read some posts here about this common issue where if the system detects overload or some other electrical issue, it shuts down other components to allow engine to continue running.
Well, the steps listed in this forum were quite involved with going into the radio module in the trunk and such.
I simply disconnected and reconnected the battery. POOF!! Radio turns on fine now!
Hopefully can save someone else some headache.
Cheers! My first post in the bag.
