Hey all, I'm hoping someone could help me with this.........check engine light came on all of a sudden without any noticable difference in engine performance........checked the basics (loose gas cap etc.).......took it to autozone to read codes, came up with code PO442-The PCM hasdetermined that a small leak exists in the evaporative emission control system. Has anyone ever had this problem? Thank you , I appreciate all the help I can get.
Hi everyone! I found a puncture in the return fuel line, does anyone know where to access the end that connects to the gas tank?...............also does the whole line have to be replaced or can a new piece be spliced in somehow?..........Thank you very much............
sorry, I realize this is the wrong place to post...friendly moderator, kindly move to appropriate forum (98 540i)...thank you......
here's an update...........the line that was punctured was a evaporative control system line, I cut out the damaged piece (about 3") and spliced in a piece of 3/8 hose.......Autozone reset the check engine light and so far so good!.........................
