Not too long ago, I posted a thread on if anyone knew how to fix the storage pockets on the back of my front seats.
Here they are

I know most people are like "who cares". Well I DO, it's my car dangit! I asked a local dealership if they knew of a way to do it and the parts guy said "you best get creative then and try to fix it, because all we can do is replace the part". And by the way, the part cost $176!!...yeah I think not. So the next day I tried to fix it and SNAP...the upper clips that hold the top in broke off.
At that point I said, "well I better get a new part then"...actually no, the first thing that really came out of my mouth was "AH MOTHER F***, YOU STUPID FLIMSY ASS PIECE OF S***"!!! After about spending another hour of cursing I decided to see if I could fix the part in some way or the other. I was too angry at the time to really think of any alternatives so I just used some gorilla glue and duct tape to hold them on. Which as you see below was a complete failure

Dried up glue after I started again

Anyways the only problem I have was trying to find a way to reattach the clips permanently or at least to where they won't snap off again anytime soon. After experimenting with some stuff, I finally settled on some 3M super weatherstrip adhesive. It holds very well and doesn't smell.

Now the clips are normally stamped in the back panell wood as you can see in the pic

The only annoying part was trying to get the clips back on the board so they lay flat. I had to get a pair of pliers to flatten out the little spikes that hold the clips in the wood.

Once that was done, I made sure everything was ready and then layed some of the adhesive on the outline of where the clip was at.

After that I layed down the clip and pressed down on it and held it down for about 1minute...WEAR GLOVES, ADHESIVE IS A ROYAL PITA TO GET OFF YOUR HANDS!!!

After about an hour I just smothered the rest of the piece in adhesive to help form a more stronger and (hopefully) permanent bond.

Here are all of them when done.

It's best to let the adhesive set for about 36-48 hours for a full bond. Once that was cured, I moved on to the pockets themselves. Again here's one of the broken pockets with the panel removed from the seat.

As you can see in the picture, there's almost an square like indention in the panel. I used a small wood screw and sceewed it through the backside, but not fully through.

Before going all the way, I applied a dab of adhesive to the screw to help hold a better bond. And then held the broken part over the screw and finished it off.

As precaution I did the other side as well so I won't have to remove the panel again anytime in the near future.

And now here is the panel back installed on the seat

Here's the passenger side before

And after using the small screws.

Ahh so much nicer. I just save myself $176...or $352 if I did both seats! Oh if anyone does do this, just make sure you don't use too long of a screw. You don't wanna have it sticking out and and people banging their legs or hands against it. So like I said before, if there's a way to fix it, DO IT!! Don't be afraid to try and tinker with things. Sorry for the lengthy post, but I like to informative as much as I can.
Now on to the next project, replacing my chipped shifter knob...that sounds kinda painful lol.
