I have the chance to pick up a 2012 xDrive35i, with M Sport, Dynamic Handling, Premium Package, Cold weather 1, Cold weather 2, Technology package, Heads up display, BMW assist. White with black leather interior. Has 15,000 miles, but has been CPO'd until Dec '17.
MSRP seems to be around $57,500 for a new '13. I can get for $44,000.
KBB and Edmunds show a value of around $50K, but I don't know how realistic that is. Seems like a good deal, but I don't have enough feedback to confirm. Thoughts??
Hmm why would the previous owner get rid of it only at 15k miles? 44K + tax is still a lot of money, it can get you a fairly loaded new x3 28i. I recommend you to test drive both engines and to see how important it is to you to have the bigger engine. Personally I like new rather than used, and 28i has more than enough power to me.
For me, the 28i was waaay to pokey. I was only considering the 35i. Nothing on cars.com or autotrader seems to come close, givin how many options were on this car. I was told that the prior owner gets a new car each year, and they got another X3. Of course, I can't prove that to be the case. Remember, I get 5 more years of warranty rather than 4 (but one year less of maintenance).
Sounds like a great price. Check Carfax for the history. Buying from dealer? Have a mechanic from somewhere else check it out for you. If all looks good , go for it. The car is basiclally brand new with demo miles on it.
If being sold by the original dealer, see if they can provide you with the service history. Some of this data may be listed with CarFax. Otherwise it is fully loaded with a CPO warranty, it seems like a good deal.
Try the BMWUSA 'build your own' again and I think you'll find MSRP a bit higher. Sounds like a good deal if it it's never been damaged and vehicle history report is good (dealer can provide to show BMW-provided service/maintenance) - which it probably is if CPO.
Agree sounds like a great deal as long as it is not a rebuild (accident/flood, etc), Ask for vehicle history and if is clean I think this is a great del.
Waiting for arrival on Thursday from the shipper in Florida!! The final price agreed to was $43,850 plus $600 fees, etc. I'll pay sales tax when it gets back to NC.
MSRP for 2013 would be $57,925, but I could order with about 8.5% off this number and have it new for $53800 including some dealer fees and district ad fees. So I figure I saved about $10K which I feels is a pretty good deal.
From what I can see the only difference is that the 2012 does not have autostart...which most on this board seem to turn off anyway. I got the full CPO report and it is totally clean; the tires show 7mm in the center, which is pretty good for 15,000 miles. Brake pads are 11mm and 9mm. The car is loaded with everything but premium radio, auto-high beams and parking assist (which was not offered, I think). Still have balance of BMW Assist, and signed up for that yesterday without any problem. Oh, don't forget that I have full warranty now longer than the new car as it goes to December 2017!!! That is worth about $2500 itself.
Specs:
Cold Weather I
Cold Weather II
M Sport
Premium Pkg
Tech Pkg
Dynamic Handling
Cargo net
Head's Up display

There is another one that sounds identical to the one you bought on eBay in Texas. Same price...same specs.
