BMW E46 Thermostat
I have to replace the thermostat on my 03 325i, do i need to replace the entire housing or just the thermostat itself and if so where can I buy just the thermostat. Thanks, jester

You need to replace the whole thing, it looks like this;
http://www.bavauto.com/lview.asp?img...1530139877.jpg You should consider changing some of the other cooling related items while you are at it. Expansion tank, water pump hoses, etc.

I agree depending on the mileage. If over 60K, and these items have not yet been replaced, consider replacing them now. If replacing the serpentine belts, change the idler pulley(s) and the belt tensioner(s).
