MINI Cooper 0-62 in 9.1 secs 52.3MPG combined
MINI Cooper D 0-62 in 9.7secs 74.3MPG combined
On the road price (including taxes) the Diesel is £1,280 more than the petrol Cooper.
Real world, we get about 35mpg-US with our Cooper. If we had a Cooper D we'd get about 50mpg-US. Current price for premium is just over $8.00/gal-US. Filling up your e34 would cost about $140. Is that diesel starting to look attractive? The Cooper D is also exempt from road tax.
