Litchfield County, CT - October 26/27 2012.

--------------------------------------------------

This idea has been kicked around in the Climb to the Clouds 4 thread but in order to get proper attention it deserves a thread of its own.

After the sucess of Climb to the Clouds 4 we are seriously considering a Fall Foliage run in Western New England

______________________________
This will be a two day event (Saturday and Sunday) and some may want to arrive Friday night,

The Wake Robin Inn in Lakeville, Ct. is reserving a block of rooms until the end of August. We will be able to book one or two nights. Alternately rooms can be booked at the Iron Masters Inn which is a motel down the road. A bit less elegant but also slightly less expensive. Both placed serve complimentary breakfast, Friday night dinner will be at the Boathouse Restaraurt in Lakeville which is a 5 minute drive from either loction.

Saturday morning arter breakfast we will drive to Lime Rock and meet in the Sunoco Paddock at Lime Rock which will be reseverved for us. We will stop by the Lime Rock Club Clubhouse and then head down to Michelin Tower (the timing tower). We will raffle off Hot Laps with one of the Club Instructors in the Clubs M3. We will then have a brief tour of the track. Lunch will be at the Lime Rock Cafe (which is nothing fancy - burgers, sandwiches, etc.), We will then head out for a drive on some of the areas scenic roads, stop for a picture taking opportunity at "Captain Audio's Driveway" (Housatonic Meadows State Park) and contintue on to the Falls Village Inn for dinner, The Falls Village Inn is going to prepare a Prix Fixe menu with several menu choices and we will have our own private room.

Sunday morning after breakfast we will head to Winsted CT. (we will pick some scenic road) for a private tour of The American Mural Project and then we will all head home.

Kewl.

We are planning a run down South around then, but if this can come together, we can work it in. Lichtfield in colors, with them cute towns and their white steeples are just what the doctor ordered.

Along with the C2C4 crowd maybe we could get the usual suspects (EQU, EdCT, Larry Schloss, Fredric) and some of the Cayman Nor'Easters to join us.

Captain - if you need help organizing the event, Mrs. Bemo and I would be more than happy to help! Who knows, we just might take the GT to piss you all off! :p

In (with a pencil). It's a tight time in our schedule, so I can't go hard commit until later.

Sounds like fun!

OK, with the switch from November to the last weekend of October, we can go to a hard commit.

#22 ·
will you be coming up Friday night and leaving sunday?

#25 ·
Tentative right now, but be aware, foliage is pretty much done by that weekend.

Still, a chance to hang, drive and shoot the breeze with all you guys is priceless ;)

Hard to predict peak but there should still be some color that weekend as Southern Vt. peak is 2 weeks earlier around Columbus Day.

Here is a pic from our 2009 run which was held on October 17.

Captain, I ended up shooting black and white that day ...

As you may recall there was a freak early season snow fall earlier in the week that knocked down a lot of the leaves. Hard to predict exactly when peak will be.

I am planning to attending (95%) . There's a possibility I have to bail due to Euro Delivery for C2C5 car but I should know within the next 2-3 weeks
Thanks for getting this started/organized

Stop 'super sizing' the fries and you won't have to charge the two bucks. This little drive is looking more like a Who's Who from the old days of Bimmerfest. You know, way back a whole half decade ago.
BJ, you are never going to have half the fun with the F30 crowd than you did on your worst day with the E9x denizens.
