1988 325i possessed!

Last night I was driving my 1988 325i convertible. I had to hit the brakes quick and when I did all the brake lights came on, I lost power steering and the car started to overheat. Any idea what would cause all of those issues at once?

Sounds like the alternator belt broke or came off.

Yup. Just after I posted this I checked the belt and found it. That was easy!

Probably bad motor mounts allowing engine to move so much the belt hit something. That's why it happened with he slam of the brakes.

Very common to have separated motor mounts.
