Hey guys I'm new to this site, and I joined because I need some info about the 3 (4??) Series Coupe. I figured what better place to get some answers than a BMW Forum.
I am looking at the new F3x's, and I was considering buying a 328i, thinking that the coupe version will be out a long while from now...but I've been hearing that BMW releases the Coupe versions a year after sedans. ( I don't know much so don't grill me ) I'm wondering if anyone can confirm this with some confidence? Will the 3 Series coupes be on sale for 2013? Will the price be lower, same or higher? Any other info you think would be useful go ahead and add it in, along with opinions!
Right now, there has been no public announcement as to when the F32 will be out. Typically, BMW sends each dealer a car or two (not to be sold) so potential customers can see them in person. A couple months later, BMW will be ready to sell that model to the public. Many people are predicting the new coupe to be out next spring, but narrowing it down beyond that, is difficult right now.
I would expect the F32 to be priced higher than the outgoing model; maybe substantially higher.
I'm also in the market for a 3 series coupe. I'm willing to wait for the f32 to come out but if it's gonna cost more than the 3 then it's a red flag for me... I will just grab one of the last 328i coupes... With inline six engine, which is what I prefer anyway... Haven't been sold on the turbo four yet... But the eight speed tranny is nice...
Now you're talkin'! All this hand wringing over soon-to-be-released models, so much cow wash.
Expect any 4 series to carry a premium commensurate with its elevated status. Conferring a measure of fame and cachet, a newly minted 4 owner will be celebrated and well regarded for his choice. How could he not?
With time, as the glow begins to fade, a new brilliance will be found: M4
Better than ever and now a 4 [murmur of awe], sales of all models are enhanced. M4 driver, you are a success!
Save your lunch money and apply for an interest bearing account! Put aside what you can and cut disposable expense....there's a 4 in your future, and though you defer now, you are smart when you down-pay!
You can rest assured the coupes will be expensive. Compare a current coupe to the corresponding sedan and note the price difference. Just a guess, but that gap will be even wider with the F32 ( no matter what they badge the car - 3 or 4 series ). I would think a nicely equipped F32 with 6 cylinders will be approaching , if not over 60K.
My in bound 335 is listing at 52.5k and its not overly equipped. Add the premium for a coupe (especially if they take it up market as a 4 series) and a few more toys and you are looking at big $$
