Over the spring and summer, I upgraded my headlights, then Fogs to HID's. I was surprised when finished with my Fogs in that the error cancellors were not even needed, even though I blew one because my wiring was initially spliced incorrectly....nice pop and smoke.
Anyway, my question is, being I spliced my original halogen fog wires and tapped in some 9006 connectors for the HID, whenever I turn on my fogs, I get this surge or possibly even a drain, that seems to cause the entire dash to flicker for a split second, sometimes with all dash lights lighting up in blue when this happens. I am also noticing if I have my headlights on, they will flicker when I turn the fogs on as well for a split seond
Is this happening to the rest of you with a similar setup? I understand it is drawing more power when firing up than my Halogens did, and the '98 wiring is not intended for HIDS, but I am concerned with it possibly causing an issue down the road with my electrical, pixels, or something worse.
is this happening to anyone else? Any reason to be concerned?, if so, what can be done to alleviate the issue, thicker wiring with relays and fuses, etc.
Thanks,
