Are there different alignment specs. for a 2002 530 sport and a non sport?

I read somewhere that one could get better tire wear by using the "non sport" alignment. My car is used strictly for touring and highway trips and I would like to use a touring tire rather than the preformance tires that come on the car. As it is now, using a touring tire, I am only getting about 25,000 miles on a tire that should go at least 40,000.

If I understand the rear suspension on an E39 correctly, you can't set camber and toe independently, the adjustments affect each other. Since large toe wears tires more than camber, it might be beneficial to set the rear to less toe and more camber. This reduced toe unfortunately has the effect of reducing stability due to bump-steer.
