I don't quite get it, but I've bought several boneyard radios and in every case, I took the number on the back of the radio in to a dealer in Berkeley and they gave me the code. Handy for me, but it sort of negates any theft protection the code might have offered.
Just call a bmw dealer. Have done this multiple times. No charge, no paper work other then a sticky note with the number on it.
