OK, Its a 1995 530I, I have power everywhere , fan, switches but the clutch does not engage, I have a blue and black wire and the blue has a White connector attached to it?
Also I hear about the AC button being Green, Mine is a white color and lights as soon as i turn the fan on.
I have a can of 134a with a gauge the gauge goes to RED as soon as I place it on the connector,Ive charged other cars and never had this issue,I cant seem to Jump the clutch, but its getting power anyway so Im stumped, was going to try Pepboys for the Free Ac check up??
I have front defrosters, I was told if that works the compressor is ok?
Had the system checked, they said pressuere is good ,no leaks, that I have a Climate control issue?
Iam assuming the ac module/brain, I have it out when i take a plug off the ac light goes off, is there a way to test it? I have heat, rear defrost, front defroster...all speeds on motor blower and Aux fan works all power everywhere...
Anyone on what else it could be? Like I said they said I have good pressure and its a climate control issue,,,, i have a AC Module coming and I did the Filter ,OMG what a MESS, Leaves it had to be Original, really black and had a burn in the driver corner I guess from the resistor?
anyway Im hoping the new Module will give me AC...Also I have a Air Duct that was in the trunk,I can Not figure out where it goes,I have the Passenger side ones off but I did them, this was in the trunk and I think it could be the driver side? is there a Duct on the right side foot well?I see a Ou let but Im not sure if it gets more duct work then I see.
I hope the new module works for you. As to the duct, plug the part number into realoem.com and it should show a diagram and you may be able to determine where it goes from the diagram.
Well I took the car to Pepboys and they did a test on the Ac System and said it was a Climate control issue? I had posted for some answers from people but I didnt get any replies so I figured I try the Module???
PB said it had Pressure and was the above problem to go to the dealer...
If anyone else has somethg else to check out on the AC please let me know,I have Power everywhere, when I disconnect the plugs from the module the ac light goes off,I have a New Resistor and all speeds and just took the filter out and replacing today..
Ill try to look up that part number for that duct , thanks...
cmelios I did a Realoem check and it is the left side heater duct? I just seem to be confused how to mount it? I see the ducts coming from the heater area but it doesnt seem to fit in anywhere..lol,Ill figure it out sooner or later...
Still waiting for the Ac modue, I have Power to the compressor, tried again and power is everywhere...clutch is not engaging...
If you put power directly to the clutch and it did not turn on then it is safe to say that the clutch is
dead.
You can either replace the compressor or search how to replace the clutch only for your model of compressor.
If the clutch is engaged and it won't turn then your compressor is seized .... Besides if that is the case and you have the a/c belt on it you would burn the belt .
The belt is on and the compressor seems to run but the clutch doesnt. I get the rpm's moving when the AC button is pressed, and all the lights on, all relays and all power is good.
The clutch doesnt engage but the belt is there and fine and spinnng..I was thinking the clutch went or is stuck.

I know Im asking for help, but if u read the posts I have Power,I have Pressure I have Freon,Im getting the same suggestions from different people I know about Freon,Power and Pressure..I did the Jumps and everythg to get power,I HAVE power...
IF I have all the above,I would have to assume the Clutch is bad??,The compressor cant be Seized if the belt rolls freely?, If i have power and checked all relays it has to be a Clutch.....If I get a Compressor and put power to it will the clutch engage? I mean OFF the car, to test it...
Yes if you apply direct power to the clutch it should make a loud click then you know its on . By the way it doesn't mean that the belt is turning , that ur compressor is not seized , the free wheeling is normal . It should free wheel when the clutch is not engaged .
OK, So I have everything checked for the AC, new resistor, all power,Good Pressure but the Clutch doesnt engage, is there anything else I should check,BESIDES fuses, Relays,Freon,I have power going to all the right places,I did the Jumping wires, Before I buy a New Used Compressor..??
Hello everybody! I am brand new, but I have a similar issue, different circumstances. I'm in a '94 525i, and all things above are good, AC blows and such, however, only when power is applied to the AC, the climate control buttons inside do not work. How can this be remedied?
Ideas?
Seefood, we all appreciate your enthusiasm, but what you are doing is called hijacking a thread.
Unless you are in a free association Ritalin recovery forum, it's considered impolite and more proper to start your own thread. That aside, welcome to the 'Fest.
Well, I never considered that a person might have ADHD when they threadjack.
@ OP:
YES, your clutch is stuck.
Your compressor pulley is not stuck.
They are two separate components. Get the clutch replaced and keep the old compressor, or replace the whole compressor.
Both jobs will require removal of the compressor and contamination of the system. Take it somewhere to get it vacuumed out.
